ABOUT OUR chelmsford LOCATION
Growing since 2007 I 10 Acres of garden center to explore!
Garden Gems
Mahoney’s Garden Center in Chelmsford is a Lowell Sun Reader’s Choice Winner for favorite garden center in Merrimack Valley! This location serves as a secondary growing site for many of our Mahoney’s Grown annuals and perennials and Uncle Mike Mahoney himself can often be seen tending to the plants in Chelmsford. Our establishment is located in an old mill building that houses other shops as well, and we share our space with Aunt Margaret’s Yarn + Gift Shop. With a vast nursery that backs up to a greenspace, visiting here feels like stepping into another world.
For your convenience
There is plenty of parking, and we are conveniently located off US 3. We also offer delivery of bulk mulch, loam, and compost by the yard to make your gardening projects easier. We’re located just 10 minutes away from Nashua, NH, and we often welcome customers from the New Hampshire border area. Please note that we do not have accessible public restrooms at this location.
Pet-friendly?
Yes, leashed pups are welcome! Our team loves seeing furry visitors.
While you’re in the neighborhood
Make sure to explore some of our team’s favorite local spots! Just down the street on the Westford and Chelmsford line is The Butterfly Place, an indoor garden filled with hundreds of freely-flying butterflies! Enjoy the natural beauty at Freeman Lake, Heart Pond, and multiple nearby trails. The Walter F. Lewis Community Garden and Parlee Farms, with its apple and berry picking, sunflower field in the fall, and livestock, are also local highlights. For a delicious meal, visit Rosie’s Diner in the historic village of North Chelmsford, perfect for breakfast and lunch. Right next to Mahoney’s is Princeton Station, a popular spot especially on weekends. Treat yourself to a sweet treat at Sully’s Ice Cream Stand or savor the flavors at Tequila’s Mexican Cantina, known for its authentic Mexican food, the best Margaritas, and massive Burritos! Joanie’s Pizza in Drum Hill is a local favorite, along with other cultural cuisine options like Priya Indian and Pho88 Vietnamese in nearby Lowell. Navigation Brewing has just opened their new location in Chelmsford Center, adding to the vibrant local scene.
