Create a Pollinator-Friendly Garden

Pollinators like bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, moths, and other beneficial insects play a vital role in pollinating food crops and flowering plants around the world. But pollinators need our help, too. Habitat loss, pesticide use, and environmental changes have caused many pollinator populations to decline, making it more important than ever to create supportive spaces for them to thrive.

Whether you’re planting a full pollinator garden, adding nectar-rich blooms to patio pots, or incorporating more native plants into your landscape, every garden can help support pollinators and local ecosystems. Explore the resources below to learn how you can create a more pollinator-friendly habitat, discover plants that provide food and shelter throughout the seasons, and learn more about the benefits of native plants through resources like the American Beauties Native Plants program.

Native Pollinator Plants at Mahoney’s

Our friend Ben from the American Beauties Native Plants program recently visited our Winchester display to highlight some of his favorite native plants for pollinators! From nectar-rich perennials to habitat-supporting natives, these low-maintenance plants help provide food and shelter for bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and other beneficial pollinators throughout the growing season.

In honor of Pollinator Month, American Beauties Native Plants are available at all Mahoney’s Garden Centers locations. Learn more about the benefits of native plants, discover pollinator-friendly varieties, and explore how native gardening can help support local ecosystems. Please note that availability and selection may vary by location.
