Mahoney’s Garden Centers Celebrates the 2025 Mayor’s Garden Contest

Boston, MA – August 27, 2025 – Mahoney’s Garden Centers is proud to celebrate its long-standing participation in the City of Boston’s annual Mayor’s Garden Contest, hosted by Mayor Michelle Wu. The contest recognizes the creativity and dedication of Boston residents and businesses who cultivate vibrant, welcoming green spaces.

On August 26, Co-owner Tom Mahoney and his wife Cindy joined Mayor Wu and her daughter Mira in honoring this year’s winning gardeners during the award ceremony.

“Gardens connect people to nature and to one another,” said Tom Mahoney. “We are thrilled to support an event that shines a light on the creativity, hard work, and passion of Boston gardeners.”

With the opening of Mahoney’s new state-of-the-art Dutch greenhouse in Brighton, the company continues to expand its efforts to serve Boston neighborhoods with a diverse selection of plants, expert horticultural advice, and inspiration for city gardeners.
