Video: How To Hand-Pollinate Your Citrus Plants

Indoor citrus plants often bloom in winter when it’s too cold for pollinators. You can step in and do the work of the bees.

Grab a small paintbrush or a cotton swab. Both tools move pollen easily.

Find the anther, the male part of the flower. It holds the pollen. Then locate the stigma, the female part that receives the pollen.

Gently lift pollen from the anther of one flower. Then place it on the stigma of another. This simple step helps your citrus set fruit indoors.
